PFQR Privacy Policy
This policy explains PFQR’s on-device processing and the personal data idealex handles through its website and support.
Controller and scope
idealex provides PFQR, the Android application with package name nl.idealex.pfqr. This policy covers the application, the static idealex.nl website and related support correspondence. PFQR is preparing for beta and is not yet available on Google Play.
idealex is the controller for personal data it receives through the website or support. QR contents and optional local history are processed on your device and are not sent to an idealex application server.
QR contents and temporary work
The text or link you enter, paste or explicitly share to PFQR is processed locally to create a QR code. PFQR keeps the exact contents and does not fetch URLs, load previews or automatically read the clipboard. The application does not request Android's INTERNET permission.
Current drafts, generated results and pending export work are temporary. Android may discard unsaved work when the app is closed or its process ends. Saved history and exported images are separate copies. The keyboard, Android system and accessibility tools have their own data practices.
Optional history and preferences
History recording starts off. If you enable it, future successful QR generations can save the exact contents and a date in the application's private local database. Enabling it does not save an already displayed draft or code. Regenerating identical contents updates the existing entry; reopening an entry does not create a new record.
Turning recording off stops new entries and keeps existing ones. You can delete an entry or clear all history with confirmation. There is no automatic age or count expiry. Language preferences are also stored locally. PFQR adds no separate history password or encryption layer beyond Android's own protections.
Backups and deletion
PFQR excludes its history from Android cloud backups and device transfers. How those exclusions are applied depends on the Android version, manufacturer and transfer method. Language preferences may follow Android’s own handling. The exclusions do not cover exported images or copies held by receiving apps.
Deleting history removes the selected app records. It does not clear the current QR code, cancel an export already started or remove saved PNG files and copies held by another app or service.
PNG exports and receiving apps
Save PNG opens Android's system file picker. Share PNG opens the Android sharing interface with a readable image and no separately attached source text. The QR image itself contains the encoded contents: a recipient can decode them. A chosen app or storage provider can read, retain or upload the image under its own policy. PFQR cannot delete those external copies.
Temporary sharing images are kept in the app’s private cache, with access limited to the selected file. PFQR removes its sharing files older than 24 hours at startup and before preparing another share. Cleanup does not run in the background, so a file may remain until the next such action or until Android clears the cache.
Purposes and legal bases
The app processes your text to provide the QR generation and export actions you request. Its local history and language settings support the choices you make in the app. idealex does not receive this local content.
For website delivery, security and responding to ordinary enquiries, idealex relies on its legitimate interests in operating the website and providing support under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where correspondence is necessary to take steps you request before a contract or to perform a contract, Article 6(1)(b) applies. Processing required by an applicable legal obligation is based on Article 6(1)(c).
The Idealex website
idealex.nl serves static HTML, local styles and images. Its application code adds no analytics, collection forms, external fonts, application cookies or browser storage. Following a link to Ravens opens a separate service with its own data processing.
Cloudflare hosts idealex.nl and may process IP addresses and request metadata for delivery and security. Its services may involve international processing and security cookies. Retention and transfers follow the applicable provider practices and account configuration described in the linked privacy policy.
Support correspondence
When you email support, idealex receives your address, message and attachments to handle the request. Email providers process delivery and storage. Providing an email address and relevant details is necessary for a reply; other information is optional.
Correspondence is retained as needed to answer the request, manage follow-up, resolve disputes and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Do not send private QR contents, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable data protection law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data held by idealex. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Contact idealex using the details below. We may need information to verify your identity and locate the relevant correspondence. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
idealex has no server-side copy of your QR contents or app history to retrieve or delete. Manage app history in PFQR and exported files through the receiving app or storage provider.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when relevant app behaviour or data processing changes. The date above identifies this version. Android, your keyboard, accessibility tools and receiving apps or providers have their own practices.
